Interior Branding & Indentity, Art Direction, ADA signage, and Wayfinding.

For the Japanese biotechnology leader Kyowa Kirin, we created a branded workplace that fuses cultural heritage with scientific purpose — honoring its roots while spotlighting its focus on bone and mineral metabolism, intractable hematological diseases, and rare disorders.

Custom cell illustrations, rendered in the fluid style of traditional Japanese shibori tie-dye, form the visual centerpiece — elegantly linking Eastern artistry with the microscopic world of cellular research. Kyowa Kirin’s signature brand shapes integrate into the wayfinding and signage, subtly nodding to cellular structures.

A strategic color-coding system defines distinct “neighborhoods,” improving navigation and giving each zone its own identity. Hidden throughout the space are playful infographic easter eggs — subtle visual references to key milestones in Kyowa Kirin’s innovation timeline — rewarding close observation and deepening the connection to the company’s legacy.
